HTC Awarded US$3.3 Million Third Package for Al-Rashidiyah Truck Complex Development in Aqaba

Mar 10, 2025

New infrastructure package expands HTC’s role in the development and rehabilitation of Al-Rashidiyah Truck Complex, including flood protection, roads and supporting infrastructure.

Aqaba, Jordan — March 2025

Hasan Al-Tarawneh & Sons Contracting Co. Ltd. (HTC Contracting) has been awarded the Third Package for the Development and Rehabilitation of Al-Rashidiyah Truck Complex in Aqaba, expanding the company’s ongoing involvement in one of the city’s key logistics and freight facilities.

The new package includes major flood protection, stormwater infrastructure, road rehabilitation and supporting infrastructure works designed to strengthen the resilience, functionality and long-term performance of the complex.

The project will be executed within an active logistics environment, requiring careful coordination across multiple workfronts while maintaining the continued operation of the facility.

Flood Protection & Stormwater Infrastructure

A major component of the Third Package is the development and upgrading of stormwater and flood protection infrastructure across the complex.

The works include large-scale earthworks and drainage channel formation, channel protection systems, stormwater pipelines and associated hydraulic infrastructure designed to improve runoff management and strengthen protection against major storm events.

These works form a central part of the wider rehabilitation programme and support the long-term resilience of the complex and its operating infrastructure.

Road Rehabilitation & Infrastructure Upgrades

HTC’s scope also includes extensive rehabilitation and upgrading of internal roads and pavement infrastructure serving the truck complex.

The works incorporate pavement reconstruction, asphalt works, curbstones, sidewalks and associated road infrastructure designed to support continuous heavy-duty truck movements throughout the facility.

The package also incorporates supporting water infrastructure, pumping systems, electrical works and lighting infrastructure, bringing multiple civil and infrastructure disciplines together within one coordinated project.

Delivering Within an Active Logistics Hub

Al-Rashidiyah Truck Complex forms an important part of Aqaba’s logistics and freight infrastructure.

Executing major rehabilitation works within an operating truck complex requires careful sequencing between earthworks, drainage systems, roads, utilities, infrastructure installations and ongoing vehicle movements.

The project demonstrates HTC’s ability to execute complex infrastructure works within active logistics environments while managing operational interfaces, construction sequencing, safety and quality requirements.

Expanding HTC’s Logistics Infrastructure Portfolio

The Third Package further strengthens HTC’s experience in logistics infrastructure, flood protection, stormwater systems, road rehabilitation, earthworks, utilities and integrated infrastructure development.

By combining hydraulic infrastructure, road rehabilitation and supporting utility systems within a single package, the project demonstrates HTC’s ability to undertake multi-disciplinary infrastructure rehabilitation programmes across Aqaba and Jordan.

The award represents another significant addition to HTC’s growing portfolio of infrastructure projects supporting the continued development of Aqaba’s logistics and industrial platform.
