HTC Awarded USD 14.5 Million Under Deck Repair Works at Aqaba Container Terminal

Hasan Al-Tarawneh & Sons Contracting Co. Ltd. (HTC Contracting) has been awarded the Under Deck Repair Works at Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), a major marine structural rehabilitation contract valued at approximately USD 14.5 million.
The award marks the latest major package in HTC’s continuing program of works at Aqaba Container Terminal and builds on the company’s successful delivery of the Above Deck Repair Works and the subsequent Ro-Ro Ramp & Berthing Dolphins Rehabilitation Works undertaken since 2025.
Together, these successive contracts reflect a growing body of specialist experience in the rehabilitation, protection and life-extension of critical marine and port infrastructure within an operational container terminal environment.
Major Marine Structural Rehabilitation
The Under Deck Repair Works comprise extensive rehabilitation of structural elements beneath ACT’s terminal deck, including wharf piles, pile caps, structural beams, soffits, reinforcement systems, headstocks and associated marine-exposed concrete elements.
The works include condition assessment, pile protection and strengthening, concrete rehabilitation, reinforcement reinstatement, crack repair and associated structural restoration activities across multiple terminal workfronts. The awarded package requires specialist marine-side access, controlled sequencing, rigorous QA/QC and HSSE management, and close coordination with ongoing terminal operations.
Continuing HTC’s Work at Aqaba Container Terminal
The new contract further strengthens HTC’s relationship with Aqaba Container Terminal and extends the company’s recent track record in technically demanding marine rehabilitation works.
Since 2025, HTC’s successive ACT packages have progressed across major elements of the terminal’s infrastructure:
Above Deck Repair Works — rehabilitation of deck, cope-line, pavement, drainage, crane-rail and associated terminal infrastructure.
Ro-Ro Ramp & Berthing Dolphins Rehabilitation Works — structural rehabilitation and strengthening of marine access, piles, dolphins, fenders and berthing infrastructure.
Under Deck Repair Works — large-scale rehabilitation and protection of the wharf substructure and under-deck structural system.
This continuity of work demonstrates HTC’s ability to mobilize and execute complex rehabilitation packages within a live port environment while managing marine access, structural interfaces, safety requirements and terminal operations.
Strengthening HTC’s Marine & Port Infrastructure Capability
The approximately USD 14.5 million award represents another significant addition to HTC’s marine and port infrastructure portfolio in Aqaba and reinforces the company’s capabilities in marine construction, structural rehabilitation, concrete repair, wharf infrastructure, pile protection and asset-life extension works.
Scheduled to commence in August 2026 with an execution period of approximately one year, the project will contribute to the long-term durability and serviceability of key structural elements at Aqaba Container Terminal.
