HTC Executes 1.1 Million m³ Earthworks for UCICO Quarry Operations in Aqaba

Oct 10, 2022

Large-scale quarry earthworks strengthen HTC’s mining capability while supporting UCICO’s integrated aggregate and construction-material production platform in Aqaba.

Aqaba, Jordan — October 2022

Hasan Al-Tarawneh & Sons Contracting Co. Ltd. (HTC Contracting) has executed a major earthworks and quarry development operation for United Concrete Industries Co. (UCICO) in Aqaba, reinforcing the integrated capabilities of the wider group across construction, mining, materials and production.

The operation involved approximately 1.1 million m³ of earthworks, demonstrating HTC’s ability to mobilize heavy equipment and execute high-volume excavation, material handling and site-development activities within a quarry environment.

The project also highlights the complementary relationship between HTC’s construction and earthworks capabilities and UCICO’s quarrying, aggregate and construction-material production operations in southern Jordan.

1.1 Million m³ of Quarry Earthworks

HTC’s works comprised large-scale earthmoving and quarry-development activities supporting UCICO’s production operations in Aqaba.

Execution required coordinated excavation, material movement, loading, hauling and site formation across an intensive quarry operating environment.

With approximately 1.1 million m³ of earthworks, the operation represents a significant reference within HTC’s earthworks and mining portfolio and demonstrates the company’s capacity to manage high-volume production-oriented works.

Supporting UCICO’s Quarry & Aggregate Operations

United Concrete Industries Co. (UCICO) operates as HTC’s affiliated construction-materials company, with capabilities spanning aggregates, ready-mix concrete, precast products and associated production resources.

The quarry operation supports UCICO’s aggregate supply chain and strengthens direct access to essential raw materials used across construction and infrastructure projects.

By combining HTC’s earthworks execution capability with UCICO’s quarry and production platform, the group maintains greater control over material availability, logistics and construction supply.

Integrated Earthworks, Mining & Materials Capability

The UCICO Quarry Operations project demonstrates how HTC’s delivery platform extends beyond conventional construction activities.

HTC’s experience in large-scale excavation, quarry earthworks, material handling and heavy-equipment operations complements UCICO’s role in aggregate extraction and construction-material production.

This integration supports a more resilient project-delivery model by connecting field execution with access to quarry resources, aggregates and material-production capabilities.

Strengthening HTC’s Mining & Earthworks Portfolio

The UCICO Quarry Operations project strengthens HTC’s experience in quarry earthworks, mining operations, bulk excavation, material movement and heavy-equipment-intensive construction.

The scale of the works demonstrates HTC’s ability to execute major earthmoving operations while supporting the production infrastructure required for construction and industrial development.

Together, HTC and UCICO provide complementary capabilities across construction, earthworks, aggregates, concrete production and material supply, strengthening the group’s operating platform in Aqaba and southern Jordan.
